My computer kept crashing while Andy was on. I wanted to know if we can expect more digital downloads for the years 64 and beyond, like what was done for 62 and 63.

John, what a wonderful surprise mystery guest in Andy Skurow. Of course, after the fact it is easy to state now, but in my heart of hearts, I had a feeling the guest would be someone involved with Hip-O select. What Andy had to share is very promising indeed for us very patient fans who support the physical sets that the label has issued in the past. Hopefully what will be released digitally on the 18th of February will eventually see physical release as well. What a wonderful surprise. Thank you John and Andy for making this interview possible.

It wouldn't surprise me if the 4 digital releases by 1 artist were the 4 albums [[not on individual cd's: "Workout Stevie Workout; Stevie At the Beach;Stevie Wonder Live; Live at the Talk of the Town") that were part of the very expensive ITunes Stevie Wonder Collection from 2005.

I was always a big fan of Jimmy Ruffin's throughout his Motown career. Never in the 1960s did I pass up ANY 45 that was available to buy. It just had to be on one of the Motown Record Corporation's labels: Motown, Tamla, Gordy, Soul, or V.I.P.

WSWNTH [[FYH) was a great cut as the b-side to GGHATLIG.

Oh - Andy! Hi - if you are still there - even if you're not. Is it STILL raining in NYC? ; )

I Love You was written by Marvin G, Anna Gordy Gaye and Margaret Johnson, who if I remember correctly was Mr Gordy's secretary. It's also the first release that Marvin got production credit for.

The unreleased album "It's So Hard Being A Loser..." is another one I'd like to hear one day.

Did I ever mention I saw Brenda Holloway sing JLWYD live in 1967 when she opened for Smokey/Miracles here in San Diego? Did I mention she also played the violin?

Oh, that many times, huh. My bad. It's one of my most favorite musical memories.

Recently, Andy and I were having dinner in NYC before seeing a play - but it rained so hard, we skipped the play and just talked until after 11 pm. LOL

I was so elated when I discovered the release of the Contours' "It's So Hard Being A Loser" back in 1967. I was trying my darnedest to keep track of the various Motown artists checking every source I could to see if they had another 45 release. The Contours only had one single release per year in the mid-60s. I eventually warmed up to the b-side for this record.

What I got was that there will be four digital only releases on 2/18, artist to be announced. Then toward the end of March or begining of April there will be a single digital release of an unnamed Supremes title. And though he couldn't say which, he said someone already guessed it. I'm guessing Funny Girl. And Baby It's Me will be a physical release [[one disc).

I can't agree. The A-side is a classic, which got to #13 in the UK.

As Funny Girl [[the stage play) saw its NY debut in 1964.... a 50th anniversarytie in to the play [[not the Supremes September, 1968) might make sense.

Hey Gregg- Yes, she was the opening act for Smokey Robinson and the Miracles. I was 15 and it was one of the first concerts I went to. So when Brenda brought out her violin it was a totally unexpected amazing thing. During the day she had appeared on our local Bandstand knock off [[TV8 Dancetime) and lipped JLWYD. So I saw her on TV and then that night saw her live. Pretty heady for 15 year old. She was just so beautiful, and the voice. Like I said one of my most favorite musical memories.

The chart position was just additional information. Loved "Take Me In Your Arms And Love Me" from the first moment I heard the harpsichord.

I just went to Amazon & noticed that the 4 Stevie Wonder album titles that I mentioned are available individually as downloads... which means that as Andy slipped and said 'him' in reference to your upcoming special guest.... I now believe it will be Smoke Robinson & the new digital releases will likely include "A Pocket Full of Miracles", "One Dozen Roses", "Flying Home Together" and "Live".

In regards to the SR &TM albums, I remembered that "Live" was coupled with "1957-1972" via Hip-O-Select , so perhaps the 4th album will be "Four In Blue" only released on cd in the U.K.

You're welcome. I was delighted to hear BIM will be a physical product. One disc is just fine with me [[like Surrender and EIE). There will still be some bonus tracks.

I missed the show. What did Andy say about BIM? Release date? They had to cut it down to a single disc? I wonder what they had to cut. It was supposed to be a double CD.

Andy said that Richard Perry was a very efficient producer. There weren't very many additional tracks or alternate versions recorded during his sessions. Hence, a single BIM release.
He said that Richard Perry participated in a new interview for the liner notes and that booklet & its photos would be fabulous.

Thank you Carole. This news is fabulous. The Copa CD booklet did say 2 CDs. I really didn't know what all the added material was going to be since I heard there was only a few bonus tracks recorded during this session. I just thought maybe the second disc could have been the 12" of YLISGTM and maybe the live recording of GRFL from the HBO Ceasers Palace concert. I guess I can dream LOL

I remember reading the Rolling Stone cover story article on Diana Ross at the time she was working on the Baby It's Me album and the reporter stated that the sessions were being recorded as a possible documentary. I wonder if perhaps the second disc would have been DVD footage?

I remember reading that as well. I have that issue of Rolling Stone. That would have been super special if we would have gotten a DVD of the recordings.
