That Dr Reeves is in North Carolina Milven and she isnt the First Lady of Motown Records Dr Martha Reeves. Our legend Dr Martha Reeves is a doctor of humanity for her faith and great contribution to music.

There's, literally, no content on that website except for that page. Judging by the copyright date, it might be under construction.

    Milven - funny!

I think you are right. I just noticed at the bottom that it was just copyrighted in 2014 by MISS Martha Reeves. I guess she put the Miss in front of her name to avoid confusion with Dr. Martha Reeves.

It's a new site under construction.

I didn't say she isn't a doctor. But in the link that she is having built, she refers to herself emphatically, as MISS MARTHA REEVES and the link to her site is www.missmarthareeves.com

I am no kind of doctor, not a doctor of medicine, nor a doctor of humanity. I am simply using my common sense. I think she prefers to professionally be called Miss Martha Reeves.

You can continue to call her doctor and to call her the First Lady of Motown. That's fine. I commend your devotion to her and you have a perfect right to say it and to feel that way even though you may be marching to the beat of a different drummer.

I am simply disagreeing with you, not making fun of you.

You've got company. I've always marched to the beat of a different drummer doing things my own way regardless of society's normalities or expectations. I've even conducted business that way.

Many have told me that I march to the beat of a different drummer. I take it as a compliment. Sometimes, those people even start to hear that beat and get in step with me. [[Sometimes )

    Roberta,

I'm sure you're aware, but this is another "official" Martha Reeves website. Upon a quick glance, the information looks well put together.

Agreed that the information looks well put together, but it outdated. I applaud the web master for promoting the Motown Museum as more Motown-related web sites should, but the current tripod I looked at tells viewers to "Visit the Motown Cafes in New York and Las Vegas." No mention of the Orlando one that is no longer with us.

I am confused by Roberta's posting. I was always under the impression that Berry's wife, Raynoma Gordy [[Singleton) was the First Lady of Motown. Am I incorrect?

Roberta is a devoted fan of Martha and always refers to her like that, although no one else does. In the early sixties, when Motown exploded on the charts with the Miracles, Contours, Marvelettes, Martha & Vandellas, Marvin, Stevie, and so many more, Mary Wells was referred to as the First Lady Of Motown. Then she left in 1964. Recently, I have read that Berry Gordy calls Claudette the First Lady of Motown because she was the first female signed to the label. I don't accept that.

To the general public, I guess most think of Diana as the First Lady of Motown since she is the face of Motown. To me, it will always be Mary Wells as the First Lady of Motown.

They still call Milton Berle , MR TELEVISION, even though there are others that came after him that were more influential to the medium than him. But he was there in the beginning and was the primary reason many people bought TV's in the beginning.

I think Mary Wells did the same for Motown in the beginning
