Not much of a fan of today's rap and hip hop. However, the 80's produced some great raps. I know we don't talk much, if any about hip hop and rap in this forum. What were some of your favorites?

This one is actually a pretty early rap track from 1980:
Admittedly, this is the first time I became familiar with this term, before George Clinton.
and the first hip hop song, a few month before SHG
always played this one
do that dance, hahaha
i party a lot in the late 70 and 80, so yeah there's some good stuff from that time
This one has had its fair share of spins in my humble little abode ....
Roger
MC Lyte - Lyte As A Rock
Man Parrish, "Boogie Down Bronx"
Afrika Bambaataa - Planet Rock
KOOL MOE DEE - "WILD WILD WEST"
and from 1988! Rob Base & DJ EZ Rock - "It Takes Two"
And the response to the diss of that song:
But Moe Dee fought off the ropes and delivered this shot:
But then, the haymaker to end the feud:
And a good left hook as he's on his way to the canvas:
Look up "irreverent" in the dictionary and it directs you to see the definition for De La Soul:
And if we're just partying, this gets them grooving:
And if the party sags, this will bring EVERYBODY up and on the floor [[guaranteed):
Will Smith really could have been a rapper if he tried:
And food for thought:
And this one is soooo '80s:
