    Classic Phyllis!!!

Since there are a number of us on here who still miss Phyllis Hyman terribly, I thought I would share that just a little while ago, I heard one of her most heart-tugging torch songs on Pandora. It was "Whatever Happened to Our Love."

Is that a song or is that a song???? You can just hear the anguish in her voice there at the end and she sells the song so well that you can actually envision someone having that kind of conversation with an ex-lover. The same was true of the closing song on her final studio album....Give Me One Good Reason to Stay.

Those two songs are beautifully written and could not have been sung by anyone else.

Oh I definitely agree that it belongs right up there with those other two. And there are others...Just Another Face in the Crowd, Old Friend, Living All Alone, we could go on and on. There was never anyone who could sing pain the way she could.
