The price on the Hip - O website is just under $76. A great deal if you ask me.
After reading that ^, I feel gutted.
The Second Disc blog has a write-up today of this volume --

I've ordered mine from the Hip-O site....
On Blowitoutahere it's only $72.92, compared to Amazon's $97! Their shipping is low, too, and no tax in California [[which saves 8%).
I see the release date on Amazon.co.uk has gone out to January 6th 2014.
Still no word on a Mix corrections disc or release? Tons of J5 Multitrack sessions have leaked out lately, but we still can't get the proper official mono mixes on cd?!
Slightly off the thread topic, but have they?
I haven't come across any lately, but would like to know where one can get them!
What songs are they btw?
Anyway, good to see you posting Jay.
I found your breakdown mix of 'Ain't Nothing Like The Real Thing' the other night that you sent me a long time ago.
Great job!
Cheers
Paul
I don't have them myself but some collectors do. Never Can Say Goodbye, The Love You Save, ABC & Got To Be There, seems like they altered the speed though..

Mine too, thisoldheart!
Right now: £26.09 at Amazon UK
Right now: £26.09 at Amazon UK
Ordered this one and cancelled my older order!
thanks for flagging this up, Jack.
I was about to post the same. Cancelled my old order, Amazon price £26.09. Bargain!!!!
Thanks for that - got my order in now too!
I wasn't going to buy this one - but for £26 it's worth it just to sit on a shelf for completeness.
Thanks for the tip Jack.
The Eu sets are identical to the US ones right? At $42 vs $97 I'm tempted to order
I received mine last night!
Been holding off until the price dropped. Thanks, too, for the tip-off, Jack! Order placed with AmazonUK.
I'll be fizzing at the bung until January!
I wanted Volume 12a for my birthday [[in June) so asked my wife and daughter for it. My daughter handled the ordering but obviously wasn’t up to speed with the way Amazon worked: thinking she would get charged the minute she placed an order, she waited until the item was required and ended up paying over the odds [[compared with the price now). Fortunately she has learned her lesson and has ordered me Volume 12b for Christmas [[I don’t mind that it won’t arrive until after) and will pay £26.09 at most. I can’t believe the price has dropped this low – I can’t think of any justifiable reason why this might be, but I’m not going to worry about it for too long!
I've no idea whats happened here. It was £62 last week. So I didn't go for it. I can't believe it. I just got my foot in the door too. I'm already getting 12a for Christmas. I'm sure they've made a mistake, 62 miss typed 26, possible? ITS AN ANIGRAM! I've never seen any of the TCMS going for this low and certainly not pre order. I'm so happy. Thanks so much for posting that.
Christmas has come early!
Thats Amazon USA , Amazon UK has jan. 6, 2014!
If it was a mistake, Amazon UK have had more than enough time to have corrected it - how many people from Soulful Detroit alone have either ordered it at £26 or cancelled an earlier order and then re-ordered it? It just doesn't make sense, but just like other 'mistakes' that benefit the buyer, who's complaining?
It might have to do with the strenght of the UK pound [[and Euro) compared to the US $.
I ordered my copy when it was £70 ish and with Amazon's pre order promise, just checked and it's dropped to £26.09 too ........ so I don't think it's a mistake on Amazon's part .
Get it while the gettin's good ! Just checked now ...... still at £26.09
The pound against the dollar is very good at the moment, but not that good to achieve that level of reduction. Also, if that's the reason other imports would be very cheap too. I think either Universal or Amazon must be trying to boost sales. You could maybe surmise that Vol A didn't sell as well as expected so there's a promotion for B. It would be interesting to know. Regardless we all seem happy with the new price!
I doubt it .. the current rate of exchange is approximately One pound = $1.60 .. a few years back it was around One pound = $2.00 .. back in the '60s it was One pound = $2.80 and in the '40s it was One pound = $4.00 .. indeed when I was at school the common term for a "half crown" [[two shillings and sixpence .. or twelve and a half pence .. [[£0.12.5) in common parlance) was "half-a-dollar" [[probably due to all those U.S. troops who were here in WWII).
I suspect that this bargain price is because amazon.co.uk want to shift product and they can make money as they pay a lot less than that from their suppliers.
Ours not to reason why .. ours but to do and buy ..
Roger
Now at £50.13 ..............

To Quote Basil Fawlty.
For the first time in my life I'm ahead
£59.99 now. Happy Christmas!
My brother ordered this December 10th directly from Hip-O as a Christmas present for me and he is still waiting for confirmation of shipment.
He did receive order confirmation immediately upon placing his order and his credit card shows pending but he has not received any reply to his emails these past two weeks for any explanation of delay. Needless to say he and my mother, who is buying this for me, are disappointed and annoyed.
Has anyone else experienced any problems ordering this item from Hip-O? I have never had a problem in all these years of ordering directly from them.
The jan.6 2014 release date has disappeared from Amazon UK:

I received my copy today, and looked at the booklet. I am now going to read it. My point is that because of my being unfamiliar with shall we say half the songs, or half the artists, if I my quote another poster, I am not "Fizzing " about hearing the music. I was in Philadelphia in 1972, granted there was a local regional scene, and I was getting more into FM Rock, I was really surprised about the percentage of hits on this set.
I ordered it the same time, never got it
I sent an e-mail to Hip-O last week and received a reply a couple of days ago that they are out of stock and more are due in within the next couple of weeks.
Ironically, my brother who placed the order for my gift December 10th, and had sent e-mails and made phone calls prior to Christmas checking delivery status, has yet to receive any notification of the delay of his order.
Well I don't know! I've just checked amazon.co.uk and whilst this is showing as being unavailable and "sign up for emails ..." on the main sales page, my order is showing as "Despatching Now" [[for delivery Monday 6th)!
Dare I hold my breath!
Mine also says "Preparing For Dispatch" ..........
"Please Mr Postman" Hurry Up
Yes, mine says the same - perhaps they did get some stock but sold it out [[to us!) and are now waiting for more. We can hope...
Mine is on is way from amazon.co.uk now too! Obviously their initial order was enough to cover those of us who had pre-ordered and now they are waiting for fresh stock. Also got mine for £26.09! Win-win weekend!
Mine is not!
My Amazon.co.uk account has it as "Dispatching Now" and "Delivery estimate Thursday 9 Jan 2014 - Saturday 11 Jan 2014".
I've been playing through all of the other TCMS sets since Christmas [[3 or 4 hours a day and I am now in 1970) .. so it might arrive just as I am reaching the end of TCMS12A ...
Roger
Thanks to keeping an eye on this thread, I was able to find a copy of TCMS 12 b from Amazon UK forwhich I've been notified is in the post. This is a fantastic way to end the collection!
Item Subtotal: £21.74 Delivery & Handling: £3.08 Pre-order Guarantee: -£0.00 Promotion Applied: -£0.00 Total: £24.82
@R. Mark Desjardins
Yes, £21.74 was the low price for the pre-orders. Ordering from Canada, I see that you don't have to pay the 20% VAT which makes it £26.09 for us - in fact your shipping cost is less than our VAT charge! Great deal!
