Having read ‘dukes’ book,as already said disappointing.
Levi is more important than I ever thought, not just motown’s finest but up their with Nat,Frank and others.
Obis lovely bass
Lawrence...
Just read the book, not sure what I was expecting but disappointing, nothing new,his life outside the Tops ‘same ol same ol’lots of unnecessary swearing.
God only knows what the proposed show will be...
Should have said that I adore Junior’s music, magnificent sax.player and terrific live performer, saw him many times in London in the 60’s,70’s,80’ never less than brilliant.
This book is appalling poorly written and totally uninformative.Sounds like Junior was a difficult man with habits normally associated with David Ruffin.
What about the music,motown,the tours!!!!!!!...
Love Tops version of ‘cherish’ one of their best covers
Also thumbs up for the great Junior Walker
I love the ‘I’ll pay double’ track on ‘four ever’ box set
Also ‘fantasy’ on ‘lost and found’
Neither song seems to get a mention here and impossible to find on you tube.
Thanks for the post.I miss my annual concert with the Tops.
I think the last time i saw Levi was 1994 Hammersmith Odeon.
No one in music before or since has meant so much to me as Levi and the...

I have had this since its release, never thought much of it when originally released except for unique the Levi vocals. However i have picked up on a couple tracks 'I'll try not to cry' and 'Poinciana'...
I was not there but it was supposed to be the best, also their first performance at the Royal Albert Hall to coincide with the release of 'Reach Out - a great description of this in Sharon Davis'...
I remember reading somewhere that the Tops found following Edwin Starr and Junior Walker tough because they were such great live acts. They had to be on the top of their game, always were.
Four Tops at the Fairfield Halls Croydon England 1970,up on the stage with Levi.
Fantastic memories.
Is anybody listening?
When will this be released?
Edmonton Regal[[now a supermarket)1972.
