I always thought the 'West Coast' [[LA) band was just 'The Wrecking Crew' which leads me to wonder if the Crew ever performed live together.
Doco was interesting but - like the actual show - promised more than it delivered.
Highlights were the Tops/Tempts medley & the Jacksons reunion. Diana really spoiled it from being an all-time...

I don't think in 1980 'the public' would have even known who Nile & Nard were. And their sound was always changing. The people that say Debbie Harry's solo album sounds like 'diana leftovers' crack...
That could be the title of every album Diana released at RCA.
I think the public had also moved on from songs like 'Why Do Fools Fall in Love' from the 50s, but obviously Diana didn't agree.
"They" didn't get to Bowie. Only Nile [[though he got Bernard in to play bass on one track).
It's funny that people think Nile & Bernard's music was dated in the early 1980s when they went on to have huge successes with Madonna, David Bowie, Power Station, Duran Duran, INXS and many more...
Feels like that setlist has been going for 63 years too....
Back then, probably not. These days it certainly would.
Now doctors say only two drinks [[say a beer or a small glass of wine) per day and two days per week not drinking at all. Any more than...

The world was a much smaller place back then and not too many fans around the world even got to see them perform on TV. And the...

Mickey's Monkey
A lovely singer, musician and song-writer.
A serious and detailed interview looking at her career conducted by someone with actual facts would be great.
But she's never really done one before, so doubt she would do one now.
"It's Growing" - Temptations
Please Mr Postman" - Marvelettes
Back in My Arms Again for me too.
Perhaps the only Supremes song that couldn't be covered by another Motown act.
Of course the UK charts in the 70s were much more impressive for both The Supremes and Diana. EMI in the UK had he autonomy to release and promote singles rather than just repeating what the US...
Dolly keeps herself in the public eye with her charitable works [[reading, vaccines etc).
Does Diana do anything charitable?
I think a factor which comes into play around the time of 'In And Out of Love' through to 'Love Child' was that Mary was very busy teaching Cindy the dance moves.
Sad news indeed. I always loved their performance of 'Needle in a Haystack' on Shindig and backing of Marvin Gaye on the TAMI Show.
So many British talents never made it big in the US even though they would be featured close to the top of a similar UK list [[Kate Bush for one).
And it's funny that some Americans like Debbie...
It's a strange description for sure.
Every time I've thought about this topic I think about 'big bouncy' intros [[eg 'When The Lovelight Starts Shining Through His Eyes' or 'Reach Out. I'll Be There;).
And then I think about...
