Fabulous news .
A massive thanks to the entire team who made this release possible. All the hard work and persistence has paid off.
Great news indeed.
Congratulations to all of the team involved in bringing the project to fruition.
"Rainy Mourning", the flip of "That's how heartaches are made" springs to mind. An Ivy Jo classic with unusual discordant harmonies.
I like the sound of this one:
Nice to see another credit for Beatrice Verdi, a favourite of mine.
15. Can’t Help But Love You - Gladys Knight & The Pips
[[Harvey Fuqua-John Bristol-Beatrice...
I think this makes the chances of a dedicated Blinky CD package less likely?
But heh, I'm am not complaining.
One To Many Heartaches - The Isley Brothers
Rainy Morning - The Marvelettes
The Love I Saw in You Was Just A Mirage - Smokey Robnison And The Miracles
Shake Hands With A Dreamer. A great drum intro and classic Dean-Witherspoon production.
Martha & the Vandellas - I Can't Help It [[I Love You) should have been released as a single instead of Jimmy Mack. This is one of Ivy Jo's finest productions. The groove is so...
A great article.
Nice to hear Beatrice Verdi getting a mention. A Motown enigma if ever there was. I have never seen a picture of the lady?
A CD release would be great coupled with some input from the lady herself for the liner notes?
I still live in hope.
My copy arrived safe and sound direct from ACE.
Thanks Keith and the team at ACE for another great release.
I can't wait for the next one...
In the meantime I'll enjoy the "Sunny and Warm'...
A great album.
Remastered and expanded....................superb.
Great to have an other label prepared to invest in Motown projects besides ACE.
Perhaps BBR might be prepared to take on the Ivy...
I am particularly interested in Debbie's 2nd spell at Motown. I am sure Debbie might have laid down a guide vocal on many of the compositions she wrote with Deke Richards. Perhaps these were recorded...
Superb news!!!! :o
Well done Keith and all the ACE team.
Is it fact Reel Music have ceased trading or is this supposition based on the available evidence?
If it is a fact then it is very regreattable.
The Ivy Jo and Blinky projects were...
I'd like to see an ACE CD of the Spinners '67 release "Original Spinners" combined with a round up of the tracks released via CFOM, other released material and any vaulted tracks from the '64-'68...
"Poor Little Rich Girl" will do just fine.
Keep 'em coming.
The Contours "It's so Hard Being a Loser" [[the unreleased album) combined with a round up of all the unreleased recordings from 1966-67 [[inc those catalogued as Dennis Edwards)...
Listening streaming live in Manchester, UK and "lovin it".
Message to Michael off the "Pink" album and Ivy Jo Hunter's haunting "Rainy Mourning" off in Full Bloom please! :o
The intro to "Message To Michael", in glorious remastered digital, would make this collection buying if nothing else.
HW, thanks for the update.
Just Losing You - Smokey & The Miracles.
A lovely melody and lyric.
A Mickey Stevenson penned classic. I can not really think of any other artist on the roster that could have sung it other...
Both Ivy Jo and Blinky will be well worth the wait. I'm really looking forward to reading the Ivy Jo liner notes. I hope Ivy will be able to provide his recollections of his final months at Motown.
