One of my favorite's by these fine fillies from Philly. Released February 2, 1981 this project turned up the energy from their previous work with The Chic Organization. This writer gives a great retrospective on a great recording. https://www.albumism.com/features/si...-retrospective

Songs with dances in the title

Mickey's Monkey
Twistin' Postman
Come On Do the Jerk
Can You Jerk Like Me?
Shotgun
Hitchhike

All of the above songs were original compositions released on various Motown labels, and all contain the names of dances.

I know there are more. Can you name more songs released by Motown that contain the names of dances that are NOT covers?

Temptations Promo release Gordy G-71-B

I recently acquired this promo copy of the Temptations "Impossible Dream" b/w "Born To Love You". It does not appear on the market too often. Mine was the second copy I've seen for sale, and Popsike.com only lists 4 copies selling since 2012.

It seems like an odd pairing to me, of songs recorded essentially 3 years apart with somewhat opposing genres, IMO "easy listening" vs. a more gritty soulful track. Are any members here on the forum able to enlighten me on possibly why this promo was released?
Thank you,
Darin

Now is the time for love - The Marvelettes 1969

I know this song contains the Group and The Andantes but Iwould like to know how they share the vocals in the song. It is right the Katherine and Ann only singing backround during the verse or in the Chorus with The Andantes together although?

Thank fo clryfing and a great thank you to the People wth te sophisticated ears ;-)
