Forging friendships through SoulfulDetroit : (L-R) David Meikle, Ronnie McNeir, Harry Dhesi, Fred Bridges |
We are indebted to Fred
for sharing his story with SoulfulDetroit. It has been a
fascinating journey during which Fred took us on a personal tour
of those famous haunts in Detroit, provided us with three face to face
interviews and
replied to over 100 e-mails.
And what of the rich vein of music which Fred and his
contemporaries delivered during those halcyon days?
Well, perhaps this essay by the late Dave Godin says it
all.
Note
the credits on the 45 are wrong. They should read Fred
Bridges and Richard Beasley.
Special thanks to Davie Gordon, Graham
Finch, Ron Murphy, Dave Flynn, Dave Rimmer, Robert Pruter
and Robb K for assistance with discographical
information.
