The Supremes Live In La Boite - What Gives with Amazon

Searching on Supremes 25th Anniversary CD and clicking on used and new I ended up here on Amazon.

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00014ND..._prd_ttl_sol_0

Who are these girls? What is going on with Amazon?

Good question MS! It's obviously a bootleg [[with the vocalists listed on the back cover not in any lineup of the group that we know and love). Motown/UME should take action and get this "item" off the online market.

They are a tribute act formed in 1998. They perform mostly in Europe.

This CD has been floating around for years. Amazon US had it for a hot minute.

Total piece of trash. Look at the misspellings in the song titles:
On Moment in Time [One Moment in Time]
Midnight Hour [In the Midnight Hour]

The girl on the right looks a lot like one of the girls who sang with Gladys and Wanda when they recorded "The Marvelettes Now!" for Ian Levine.

Doesn't Europe have any laws about using a name that is false?

Nope, but thanks to Mary and F.A.M.E. many States in America have.

How interesting would it have been for these girls to be out performing somewhere and suddenly Diana Ross and Mary Wilson stroll into the joint? I would have loved to be a witness to the time the fake Supremes had to explain themselves to the real Supremes. LOL

That is a major contribution that all music artists who are groups should be thanking Mary for. She really pushed that effort.

Amazon lists thousands of items so I'm quite sure they cannot check the veracity of every single thing they sell. As we know there are many groups who call themselves The Supremes, as well. If you think it's an unauthorized item I think Amazon provides a link you can access to register a concern. At a ranking of 57,000 on Amazon's charts I doubt it's generating enough sales for any major label to be bothered with. And who knows - maybe it is a Mary-authorized item.

I know from previous concerns I've registered that Amazon are happy to continue to use incorrect information and pictures on products being advertised. It's like banging your head against a brick wall reporting anything.

Im grateful to Mary for pushing F.A.M.E. but real dissappointed that she toured the UK with a group of 35 year old Drifters. She shouldnt have taken that gig imo.

That's unfortunate; I'd suggest moving on. It really just isn't a very important matter overall, but it's certainly good to keep members here appraised of bogus products!

This CD has been floating around for years....might be the same CD!
I seriously doubt if very many were even made and probably less sold. According to reports, the group dissolved 16 years ago. Another bogus Supremes group under the bridge...sadly, have not seen Ragland drifting under that bridge.

The last time Raglands SOTS played the US was back in July of this year and she was on the bill with Billy Richards from the Coasters. Ragland has also tourred with Richard Streets Temptations. Shame on Bill and Richard for appearring with Kaaren Ragland. SOTS have another concert this December at a casino in Oregon.

A friend of mine gave me this CD as a 'gift' [[more like a joke). She said she ordered if from amazon UK, but, it was shipped from Spain as was the recording of this live show.
Well.....they certainly don't sound like The Supremes...more like the Ikettes meet the Sweet Inspirations. Interestingly, they only sing 2 Supremes songs and one Ross song. Vocally, they are a power house and about rip the roof off! They all sing leads. They have a
really tight band. They made no references to ever 'being in the original group'. Too bad they didn't get an original name and their
own material as they put on quite a live show. No doubt the name "Supremes" sells more tickets in Spain. But, The Supremes they ain't.
