Basing mine off of my favorite Jean vocal performances. I extended my lineup because, let's be real, it's the digital age. More than 10-12 tracks can be compiled on a compilation. I will not allow Supfan to make this more difficult than it should be.

Up the Ladder to the Roof
Bill When Are You Coming Back

My OCD has insisted that I put together something that is actually a greatest hits collection, as all of these were pretty decent hits in some form or another [[US or UK), excluding the last one, which is just an awesome song.

Love Jean. I do not have "Heaven Help Us All" only "MacArthur Park" from David Frost. Would you be willing to share it's not on youtube?
Also in respect of "You Gotta Have Love In Your Heart" what is EE version?

The duet albums received an Expanded Edition [[EE) version a few years ago. In addition to the original version of YGHLIYH on Return of Mag 7, Andrew and the team did a new, extended mix of the song that continues long after the original faded out. Jean really goes to town and hits some incredible notes. I still think the overall "sing-a-long" production of the song hampered it's chance of really achieve major chart success, this extended version is incredible, if for no other reason that to hear Jean's gorgeous soprano

Agreed. I'd have to put the song on my list of worst Supremes singles simply because there's no way it was going to succeed. But vocally, Jean is on it. I think someone mentioned that this is one of the songs that the Supremes and Tops recorded separately from one another and that there's a Jean only lead in the vault. I sure would love to hear that!

there was a rumor that this might have been intended initially just for the Supremes. it was produced by Clay McMurray who was one of the more active producers for the girls in the 70s. i think he and Frank did the most work with them.

I've compiled an excel file by year, listing out the recording sessions, performances, releases, etc. With each recording, i've also listed the producers. Now I know this isn't complete since not all of the Jean material has been released, by Clay did about 20 songs with the girls [[including the duets) and Frank did just over 30 [[again including duets)

early on they did a lot of work with Clay and i'm guessing that he was a strong contender for being the primary producer. Prior to the release of Right On, they'd done:

    Is there a place
The day will come between sunday and monday
I got hurt trying to be
Then we can try it again

    Frank had done:
    But i love you more
    Up the ladder
    everybody's got the right
    Baby baby
    Loving Country
    Thank him for today
i wish i was your mirror
    na na hey hey

    Al Kent did:
    You move me
    Wait a minute

    Johnny Bristol did:
    Bill when

    Jimmy roach did:
    Then I met you

    henry cosby did:
Just take a closer look at me

plus there are a few i don't have details on - Steppin' On A Dream, I Can't wait till summer comes, didn't i blow your mind this time and others

This is becoming a "Best of..." compilation rather than a "Greatest Hits". In that case, it is essential that Jean's version of "You've Got to Pay the Price" be included.

If this thread had been titled "Favorite Jean Terrell Vocals" or "Best Recordings that Included Jean Terrell", I could have easily come up with 40 or more songs! LOL!

Me too. I hope my cd is where I think it is because the last place I thought it was...it wasn't. I'm pretty good about keeping up with my stuff so I hate to think I lost it somehow. It was a very nice song. Would've fit in with the Right On material pretty easily I think.

I would think it would have to be a Best Of since the Supremes with Jean only had a handful of hits in the first place. Other than that we'd really just lift the singles she sang on and make an album out of it and call it a day. Everyone's list would look exactly the same.
