That would be wonderful tribute to Marvin Gaye. However, I must caution that such an honour, such as bestowed to Nat King Cole, having a U.S. Post Office named after him can have drawbacks. The specific P.O. situated on Western Avenue, in the Koreatown area of L.A. is badly in need of a paint job to the exterior. It is a drab brown exterior, with minimal care in covering over graffitti. I spend a month in L.A. each year for the past decade and it never has looked pristine. The interior is even more depressing. A photo of Nat and that is about all.

Mark, not to mention that they are closing Post Offices around the country. Still, I am glad that they are remembering Marvin Gaye with this honor. I was in the old post office in the neighborhood I grew up in last summer. Only one person working there. It was dark and look like they've done zero maintenance to the building since the 70s.

It's like when cities gratuitously name urban streets, or out of the way streets "Martin Luther King Jr." Way, or Drive, like they don't really want to see it, or think that it's just to make Black people happy. Damn! I don't want no token street. I want fairness and equal rights and opportunity. I don't care about a stinkin' street name or post office. But, if we have to have a Ronald Reagan airport, we should have an Obama airport, too, but you know that's not going to happen. He just gets the obligatory library.

We will not see an Obama Airport while Trump is in office ,but perhaps a few years from now.
