    Hey why not!!

Hi gang,do any of you just sometimes play music all day just because you feel like it? I mean from sunup to sundown i've never actually grooved for the whole day, but i'm planning on it...why not!

I created a few playlists on my Mom and Dad's computer that can play for 20 hours or more. Like a personalized radio station whenever they want background music. These days, I put a key word into Media Player and create diverse playlists that become my soundtrack at home. For example, I put the word "groove" in based on your post and now I have a playlist that consists of:
    Groove Me - Guy
    Groove Line - Heatwave
Gangsters of the Groove - Heatwave
Groove With You - Isley Brothers
    Groove Me - King Floyd
Mt. Airy Groove - Pieces of A Dream
For Those Who Like To Groove - Raydio
    Krush Groove - Run DMC
Don't Disturb This Groove - The System
One Nation Under A Groove - Funkadelic
Behind The Groove - Teena Marie
Groove's Groove - Richard "Groove" Holmes
    and more.

One word and I've got jazz, R&B, funk and hip hop playing just like that.

    How about key word "time"?
    Good Time -Aretha Franklin
Night Time Is The Right Time - Ray Charles
In Time [[You'll Be My Love) - Autumn
Run On For A Long Time - Blind Boys of Alabama
The Last Time - Blind Boys of Alabama
The First Time - Bob James
It's Just A Matter of Time - Brook Benton
    Old Timer - Burning Spear
He's There All The Time - Canton Spirituals
Now's The Time - Charlie Parker
    Good Times - Chic

There's probably well over a hundred for that one. It's got jazz, gospel, rock, reggae, hip hop, blues and soul on it. That would take most of the day to play. That makes for a... good time.

It's been a very long time since I've done that. I do sometimes put on station CKWW on the internet overnight. They play all the songs I listened to overnight when I was in high school! LOL!

As a now New Yorker, I'd like to add Angela Bofill's "This Time I'll Be Sweeter" to the list.

LOL. Like I said, the "time" list is well over a hundred songs long. I'll run out of patience trying to type 100+ song titles into this thread. But if it's not on this computer [[my laptop) then it's on my PC. Like I said, I've got a ton of music but both computers don't have all of my songs.

Yep. The songs I listed are just the ones that pop up when I put a certain word in my player. I did a good one a while ago with "fool" as the key word.

I think I have about 400 albums, 200 cassettes, 600 or 700 CDs. But if I had to guess, I have 30 or 40 thousand songs on my computers. And I STILL think of new songs to add every other day. The soundtrack of my life is long and every time I hear a song that I haven't heard in 40 years, I immediately remember the time of life when I used to jam to it. Love music.

I'm telling you, you can throw together a heckuva playlist just by playing off of one word. You can get days worth of music with the right word.

The Emperors of Soul collection is great. So is Stevie's At The Close of the Century. Every song is a hit.

I'm still alive on Earth, and healthy[[no doctors other than annual check-ups, no diseases, no pills, lots of exercise, lift weights, and even still working [[although I've cut down my hours). I still write and draw stories for Dutch and Danish Disney. This last month I've been in Denmark [[where I live 2-3 months of each year). Currently, I'm on tour, teaching storyboard classes on weekends at different libraries in the Jutland area of Denmark. In the last 2/3 of winter and spring I was in The Netherlands, where I live 3-4 months each year. During early winter, I visit my sister in Winnipeg, Manitoba for a month, and in late summer and early fall, I'm in Munich, Germany for 1 month [[used to be there 3 months, but my partner in out animation/comics studio there, retired), then I'm back in The Netherlands for a month, before going to L.A. to visit my other sister for 2 months. Sometimes, I visit my brother for a few weeks in Stockholm, Sweden. My sister and her Danish husband might move back to Denmark. If that happens, I'll cut out L.A., and spend more time in Denmark and maybe a little more in The Netherlands.

I spend less time working, and more time just hanging out with my 3 siblings and 9 first cousins, with whom I grew up together like sisters and brothers in our "family compound of adjacent duplexes and nearby free-standing houses. I also spend a lot of time visiting my 4 best friends. Other than the seminars, I can work on my artwork wherever I go, and just "meet" with my editors via Skype video sessions, and scan my work in high resolution, and send it in e-mail attachments. The paper originals are no longer needed these days.

But, I only work about 25-30 hours per week now, with some weeks intense, and other weeks just hanging out and socialising. We don't know how long we oldies will be around, so every minute of good times together is precious.

I thank God for everyday above the dirt. Many days, I take inventory of the loved ones I have remaining and thank the Lord that the phone did not ring with bad news. The longer you live, the more you're going to lose; it's just a fact. So count those blessings and play those records. That feeling you get when you hear them is proof of life and you should enjoy it for as long as you can.

I just plugged "life" into Media Player, by the way. The first 10 results were:

    Life Goes On - Tupac
    Night Life [[Live) - Aretha
A Day In The Life - The Beatles
Medley: Heaven/Meantime/Celebrate New Life/Lost Without You - BeBe Winans
One Love In My Life - Billy Eckstine
Life Is Just A Bowl of Cherries - Billy Eckstine
    Single Life - Cameo
Life, The Biggest Troll - Childish Gambino
    I Found Life - Christianaires
Street Life - Crusaders feat. Randy Crawford

These are just the top 10 in order of artist alphabetically. Love my collection.

Well......ok, this time! But you must never make the deadly mistake of neglecting the O'Jay's again! They are, along with the Isley's Brothers some of OHIO's finest! Rest in peace Nancy Wilson!

Love the O'Jays. I could do with a day of just playing the O'Jays, Manhattans and Spinners and not long for anybody else. My wife wouldn't appreciate it because that's a lot of songs and many different voices that I'd be singing and I'm not really good singing in my own.

I can't play music all day anymore because it results in the neighbours banging on my walls and ceilings. It must be that they are enjoying it so much that they want me to make it louder

Living in a condo with shared walls, I've had to learn to get used to listening to music through headphones. Not optimal, but not bad as a last resort.
