    Triangular...
Leave it to a Marv to post a picture of another Marv posing with the Marvelettes...
Anyway, happy birthday [[belated albeit) to Motown's underated , best guitarist outside of the Funk Bros. Marv Tarplin get nowhere near the attention he merits. His fingering was
phenomenal. No wonder Smokey stole him from that other girl group.....

Belated Happy Heavenly Birthday to Marv Tarplin. Indeed, Marv's work as a guitarist & song writer was instrumental in contributing to many of our favorite Motown Classics.

That is how I remembeer it

I was at a conference in New Orleans in the early 2000 time period and Smokey was the feature entertainment and he introduced Marv in the exact same way as the video , it was very cool, although he was a Miracle I don't think he ever received the credit he was due.

For the benefit of younger members who may not recall Marv Tarplin. Here is a nice recap of his history and the role he played at Motown.

Marv finally did get to play on an album for that other girl group, the one he started off accompanying way back in 1960 when the recorded their album "Floy Joy" in 1971 and released in '72.
