    Carolyn Franklin Live, 1971

She was a shonuff singin’ sista in her own right. Never mind the watermarks and enjoy:

Thank you for sharing! That was awesome to see Carolyn Franklin do her thing live. Such a talent. Too bad she didn't make it big. If the rumors are true that Curtis Mayfield may have given her an opportunity to record the "Sparkle" soundtrack, it would have been interesting to hear what she would have done with those songs and if that might have helped her career. Obviously, Aretha's is definitive.

You're more than welcome, Luciano! Yes, the mind boggles imagining what Carolyn would have done with the Sparkle material. This clip more than proves that she deserves a rightful reconsideration as more than a footnote in the Aretha saga.

I did note the WPA watermarking. They have tons of historic footage but charge high $ for it. And I believe you have to prove you are using it for research purposes.
