I remember Eddie at one of his very last shows in Detroit. It was at Chassey's a large downtown nightclub. He would come over to our table sing, laugh and joke with us because he knew he was at home.

They were like your big brothers or older uncles, but you didn't get any money from them LOL! Truthfully, the Original Temptations, including Richard were like most of the dudes around Detroit. Very down to Earth and just cool as the breeze.....

OK then, another sweet soul ballad of the kind I've always been a sucker for!
The Supremes - Is there a place [[in his heart for me), from New Ways But Love Stays,, produced by Frank Wilson, 1971.
If you've ever wondered what the angels sing like, listen to Jean Terrell on this one and wonder no more

Marv, I used to drive my crew everywhere back in the day. Therefore, it was my car, so it was my mixtape that got played. We were the only cats I knew who would pull up to the basketball courts while blasting old Drifters and Chuck Willis songs. Good times...

I hate hearing stories like that. I heard that only seven people showed up for Philippe Wynn's funeral and that affects how I deal with people to this day.

Yes that was awful and they buried right there in Detroit. He had his way about him and it rubbed some people the wrong way. Still he was a great contributor to our music and deserved a bit more respect.

Lesson: You have to treat people right whether your poor or rich in this life.

One of my faves from back then.....went a little something like this:

"I was born in Lil Rock.....had a chocolate sweetheart
We were always hand in hand."

and I'm sticking to it.....wasn't the first or the last.
