Eddie & Brian Holland - Live in NYC outdoors this Sunday

    http://www.lcoutofdoors.org/bobby-ru...-11%2017:00:00

I am hoping to see some of the NY Metro-area SDF'ers at this rare opportunity to see and hear the Holland Brothers, discussing their songs and their working relationship, and singing some of those songs, too.

The rest of the lineup ain't too shabby, either.

Sorry we won't see you then.

Those who can make it: look for McKinley Jackson on piano behind the Hollands, too.

    HW,

Any chance of this being video recorded and made available? It does have historical significance.......

I hope I can get out to NY this weekend. Sounds awesome. Regardless, I agree with Mike up there. This should be professionally video recorded!

And, thanks a lot for the post. I would have never known about this otherwise.

BTW the link seems to take you the Lincoln Center Out of Doors home page. Skip the intro, scroll down to August 11 at 5 PM, and click on that item. Here's the link again anyway, which seems OK at first, then oddly reverts to the home page:

    HW,

Is this like a "once in a lifetime" thing, or will something similar with Eddie and Brian happen again? And how did this come about? Also, are they in NY just for this, or is there some other occasion? I bet a lot more people would like to go if they had more notice the next time. [[if there is a next time) Thanks.

This has been a dream of the Lincoln Center event planners for awhile. They asked me to be the moderator, that's about all I know.

Let's see how it goes - although I'm sure it will be great, and they will want to do it again, schedules & situation permitting.

Meanwhile, got to get ready to go - soundcheck, printouts, calm...

From left: yours truly, Brian Holland, Jill Sternheimer [[Producer, Public Programming, Lincoln Center), another great songwriter Allen Toussaint - who was on next - Eddie Holland and Bill Bragin [[Director, Public Programming, also of LC, http://nyti.ms/13eAeNc)

I may have been too close to the action to be able to assess how it went, but I had a blast sitting next to many magical moments.

One hopes they know all the lyrics
If they flub, they can only blame
    the writers of the songs

if that was intended as a joke, that's priceless.

There were a few minor flubs. They're human and improvisators.
