Happy Birthday to one of our national treasures!

Back when I was a little guy, I heard a voice come through my radio which was quite unlike that of others. As I grew older, that voice was with me...the first serious crush that I had, songs like "You Are Everything", "Peek-A-Boo" & "You're As Right As Rain" were there to say all of the things that I didn't know how to say. And as I've matured, that voice has matured like a vintage wine, still classy as ever, still timeless as ever.

Russell, thank you for the music & all of the great music you've given us. May God bless you each & every step of the way with every good gift. May He bless you with love, peace, joy, health, wealth, longevity & about a million more stages & performances to grace us with!

Happy Birthday Russell, may you have many, many more!

Hey Russell, It's been many a year since you've been in Montreal. Since the Canadian dollar is on par again, a tour of Canada should be in the works. Your man in Montreal

    Russell, or anyone,
Will the album 'Heavy' ever by on CD?
    Thanks in advance.

  16. #166
    MotownSteve,

I never know when any of the old stuff will be released on CD. I did find a website: http://www.cdbbq.com/web_store.cgi?keywords=stylistics that will create a CD from the vinyl. They sell you the newly created CD and the vinyl for a steep price. The price for Heavy is $57.95. The site is cdbbq.com. The first link above will take you directly to the Stylistics stuff.

Hi Russell, I know this is really belated but want to wish you a happy birthday and many, many more to come. I don't visit the forum as often as I used to, so missed your special day last month. I am way overdue for some good entertainment, so hope you guys will head back to L.A. before too long. Please tell Flo and Piano Man hello.

    (aka Musicloverinla)

  18. #168
    Momotown,

    Wow -Wow -Wow…..

    What can I say?
The show was off the hook and as always Russell rocked the house!!!!!
If you was not there you missed a real treat.
    First the Chi-lites,
Then your second helping was Gerald Alston.
And I must say Gerald Alston & the Manhattans were awesome.
    They threw a great show.
But as they say in show business…The best is yet to come?
    Russell, Russell, Russell

Russ & The New Stylistics rocked the house!!!
It started with “Stop-Look & Listen & ended with “You Make Me Feel Brand New”.
Again the audience was their hands.
With all his smooth, silky & graceful love songs.
Merrillville Indiana was singing, clapping, dancing and rocking,
You guys really know how to throw a party.
    Let me not forget that...
One gentleman from the audience told me that he had 10 kids and Russell was responsible.
I love it when a concert comes together.
I must admit the long drive from Michigan to Indiana was well worth it!!!
    Hey Russell
Thanks for the good time & Let’s do it again!!!

    Hi Russell

Thanks for your reply. I already knew about that from http://musicstack.com Solid Viper offers the same for $34.80. My luck being what it is I'd buy it and the next week it would be announced on CD.

Listening to The Stylistics Greatest Hits the other day I was wondering what is the definitive Stylistics song. There were so many greats, but, for me, the earlier stuff had the edge (Betcha) over the later songs (Na Na). Maybe this has been discussed before, but for you Russell what would define the Stylistics sound? OK you knew my choice would come - but probably something like Break Up to Make Up for me. Other folks choices?
