Eddie Holland - Candy To Me [[1964)

I just love this song and was reminded of it recently. Eddie Hollands' "Candy To Me" from 1964 his last solo charted record. This guy did an extended remix on it and it sounds great. Give a listen........

Love the Eddie Holland "trilogy:" "Leaving Here," "Just Ain't Enough Love" and "Candy To Me." The influence of Jackie Wilson on Holland's voice is unmistakable. And the Andantes are at their best!

When I was a kid and heard "Jamie", I thought it was Jackie Wilson! LOL!

Candy is my favourite EH track. I'm pretty certain it didn't get a single release in the UK but was definitely on one of those now-hard-to-find various artists EPs. It was a favourite of the mod era... and still works its magic today.

Eddie all the the ingredients to have been a major solo artist ala Marvin Gaye except he did not enjoy performing. He had more than a bit of stage fright!
