Wow, that's great news. Thanks Smark21
...seriously?...lol.. has she ever recorded a jazz album or received a positive review in a jazz publication?..tooooo funny..
I think it's great! One of the Supremes is still receiving honors for her work all these years since they started back in 1959. You go Mary!!!
Good for Mary. But this is just something given to her to get a "name" there. It is mostly just local entertainment where the old folks can bring their lawn chairs and listen to music. They have something like this on the plaza outside of the building where I work during spring/summer.

she was within the 'budget'..airfare and all you can eat buffet!...lol
This is ok.............but it "does not become a legend most"
LOL
honestly, when I think of jazz, Mary Wilson is not the first name that comes to mind!
This is a jazz legend and no offense to Miss Mary Wilson but it is this lady The First lady of Motown Records Dr Martha Reeves should be getting this award. Listen to how Miss Martha caress ever lyric on God Bless The Child. The First lady of Motown Records Dr Martha Reeves is one of the best jazz singers around today.

Roberta
lol. Does Martha tour with a jazz show?
Roberta, fire up a group of seniors at one of the seniors retirement trailer courts, put on a lunch and give Martha an award like this.
She'll probably stay over in England though & perhaps send the nephew to pick it up ~ if there is free lunch, accommodation, and the weather is good.
I dont care if Mary bought this award or if Mark Bego has something to do with it a lof of people dont know that Michael Jackson [[who didnt need the attention or the money) used to buy his awards a lot of times. Either way I am happy for Ms Wilson.
It's about time Mary got some public recognition for her accomplooishments and humanitarian efforts.
Mary Wilson deserves all the good things that are coming her way. After giving the World 54 years of great entertainment, she deserves it all........!
