First time they danced together on film. They made two movies together and got a chance more in other numbers. Here's one of my faves:

Terrific clip, Smark. Their dancing seemed completely effortless. And even Xavier Cugat & His Orchestra got into the act.

It took a lot of rehearsal to make their numbers look effortless. Fred Astaire mentioned a couple of times, when pressed, that Rita was his favorite dance partner because of her talent and work ethic.
