    No Temptations? That's odd.

I thought the R$B Foundation was defunct or in limbo.

Didn't see Berry Gordy. Or Otis. Sade is an R&B singer? And I'd put the Coasters in before the Moonglows.

That list is too inclusive; it's like what you'd expect after 20 years of inductions, not the original inductees.

Is there a website and a statement of criteria of qualification?

I noticed that the list is 70s heavy.

What kind of list is this? I agree it is 70's heavy. Is this the first year? If so, then it would have been better to just list 5-7 acts. Its like they listed everyone.

[[Vince Bucci, Getty Images) Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston are set to be immortalized with inductions into a brand new R&B Music Hall of Fame.

Plans for the Official R&B Music Hall of Fame Museum were announced this week to honor those who have made notable contributions to the music genre.

The inaugural class of 2013, which features 25 inductees, will also include Aretha Franklin, James Brown, The Temptations, Otis Redding, The O'Jays and Gerald Levert.

A special induction ceremony will take place on May 5 in Cleveland, Ohio.

Civil rights activist-turned-political pundit Reverend Al Sharpton will also be recognized at the event with the Ron Banks Humanitarian Award for his longterm support to soul and R&B artists in need.

Construction on the proposed R&B Music Hall of Fame Museum is expected to begin next summer once organizers settle on a city to call home.

R&B is the latest genre to land its own Hall of Fame - a similar honor is planned for American Pop, while locals in Tennessee will celebrate the state's musical success next month when Elvis Presley and ZZ Top are inducted into the Memphis Music Hall of Fame.

Yeah. I would be looking all the way back to the 40s, at least. There is more to the music than what happened in the 60s, 70s, and 80s. What about the roots of the music?

Warning: I Googled up the R&B HOF, clicked on the site, and got a Java exploit malware. Luckily, Microsoft Security Essentials caught it and quarantined it. I had to run a virus/malware scan to make sure it was cleaned, deleted the malware, updated Java, and cleaned out Firefox. All clear. Just be careful!
