Who’s Performing At The Super Bowl Halftime Show This Year? Beyonce!

Who’s Performing At The Super Bowl Halftime Show This Year? Beyonce!

The Super Bowl half time show will officially NOT suck this year. Beyonce will hit the stage at halftime of the big game at the Superdome in New Orleans on February 3rd. This is a refreshing improvement compared to an older, dusty version of the woman we once knew as Madonna last year.

The Madonna performance wasn’t terrible… but it was pretty close. Madonna teamed up with Cee Lo Green, Nicki Minaj, LMFAO and M.I.A. last year. I think it’s only natural to speculate a guest appearance by hubby, Jay-Z this year. Could we also see her reunite with Destiny Child members, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams? Fingers crossed!

Pop stars have been intentionally avoided by the program ever since the infamous Janet Jackson nip-slip back in 2004. The show returned to relevance in 2011 with performances by the Black Eyed Peas and Usher. Many called the Peas’ performance the worst in Super Bowl history. Can’t say that I disagree.

Let’s take a look back at some of the halftime shows from the past 20 years, which was your favorite?

2012: Madonna, LMFAO, Nicki Minaj, Cee Lo Green, M.I.A.

2011: Black Eyed Peas, Usher, Slash

    2010: The Who

    2009: Bruce Springsteen

    2008: Tom Petty

    2007: Prince

    2006: The Rolling Stones

    2005: Paul McCartney

2004: Janet Jackson [[and her nipple), P. Diddy, Nelly, Kid Rock, Justin Timberlake

2003: Shania Twain, No Doubt, Sting [[I have no recollection of this one)

    2002: U2

2001: Aerosmith, NSync, Britney Spears, Mary J. Blige, Nelly

2000: Phil Collins, Christina Aguilera, Enrique Iglesias, Toni Braxton

1999: Chaka Khan, Gloria Estefan, Stevie Wonder, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Savion Glover, Kiss

1998: Boyz II Men, Smokey Robinson, Martha Reeves, The Temptations, Queen Latifah

1997: The Blues Brothers, ZZ Top, James Brown

    1996: Diana Ross

1995: Patti Labelle, Teddy Pendergrass, Tony Bennett, Arturo Sandoval

1994: Clint Black, Tanya Tucker, Travis Tritt, The Judds

1993: Michael Jackson [[the first halftime show I remember watching)

    1992: Gloria Estefan

I love Beyonce so this is great news. IMO the best half time show ever was the 1998 one with the First Lady of Motown Records Miss Martha Reeves.

    Best regards,

    Roberta

Most commonly, the best of the superbowl half time shows include Prince, Springsteen, U2, the Stones, Michael Jackson and the other first lady of Motown who some of us call Miss Ross and others call Diane.
