With great sadness, I'm sorry to say my boss , Herb Reed, founder and original bass singer of THE PLATTERS passed on yesterday ~ Herb was the last surviving member of the legendary act and will be dearly missed

They announced his death on ABC WORLD NEWS. The Platters gave us some great music.

Just two weeks ago, my sister went into Walmart and was looking for a Platters cd and asked the young sales associate if they had any cds by them. The young man said, who? RIP Mr. Reed, you all gave us some wonderful music.

I was a huge Platters fan when I was younger. An era continues to pass. Such great music..

There' a UK 45 from the late 70's that's by Herb Reed & Sweet River [["Hung Up Over You") ...
... it's a great modern soul dancer but difficult to find at a reasonable price.
The US beach music scene picked up on it so it maybe available on a BS comp CD.
