    Diana Ross "In The Round"

At Wembley Arena, If I remember right it was back in 1989, but with my memory lately it could have been earlier. I've only just re-discovered the set, so if anyone wants to see the rest let me know, and I'll put them up on flickr.

    Great pic/HBO Special

I used to have a VHS tape of this HBO Special and during my apartment renovation last year it got misplaced. Have scoured various "sites" hoping to find someone who could make me a copy. So if anyone reading this thread knows of a source for the HBO Special please let me know. Thanks dba

Yes, it was the Working Overtime Tour when Working Overtime studio album came out in 1989. The video for the tune "Paradise" looks like it was filmed on a stage [[possibly Wembley sans audience?) while Ross wore the black fringy dress and boots.

Also, I remember tuning in on Green Peace Day. It was a day of many concerts and performances by different artists broadcast from all over the world. And it was a pleasant surprise to me when they announced Ross was appearing next, live via satellite. She sang "What A Wonderful World" while she threw a huge globe beach ball into the audience. "Work for peace. Work for Green Peace," she said. The other tune was "Working Overtime."

The 89 wembly concert is available in a 17 dvd disc set from I Offer..
The set list on the LP is totally different order from the HBO show.."Upside Down" and "Muscles" "Man I love" are edited out and all "Workin Overtime" tracks are sung together in the middle of the show where as on the album they are mixed throughout the set list..the album dosent include "Just Say We can" which is a pity as its one of the highlights of the HBO TV special with audience enthusiatically shouting "Yes!" through the chorus...

The "Paradise" video was filmed when the Arena was empty one afternoon at soundcheck.

I liked the song Paradise but I couldnt stand to watch the video I thought it was too corny. I bought the Workin Overtime album for some reason and I dont know why I guess because I am a fan of each and every Supreme. I think I only listened to it once sad to say. I can listen to any of the Ross albums over and over but not this one. Her performances in the Round are great there nothing bad to say about this I think during this time period and in the 70s her voice was stellar.
