My mother has this uncanny sense of predicting stars. We were watching Soul Train one day and this song came on Behind the Mask and when Don C introduced Greg P my mother said that man is going to be big he is talented. I loved the song and bought it but thought nothing of what she said. The next thing I new this man was doing things for Michael Jackson and a lot of other musical legends and his name is well known in music circles I was shocked. Gotta love mom!

Fairytales with Anita Baker... The improvisation alone was one of the most genius grooves. Ever.

I used to love Greg Phillinganes. I bought his solo LP but was somewhat disappointed, though. Maybe I'll dig it out and spin it again. I may have been expecting something instead of listening with an objective ear back then.
