    Songs about love and war

I came up with the idea of making a playlist with 1950's and 1960's pop/r&b/soul songs depicting how war affected the relationship between lovers. I believe most of us associate "war songs" with politically charged lyrics and angry protest singers. That's not what I'm looking for this time. I'm looking for songs about love, waiting, faithfulness, loneliness, yearning, missing, etc., related to the Vietnam war. Preferably, ballads from the second half of the 1950's to the first half of the 1960's. But I'm open for all suggestions. Thank you!

    Examples:
The Four Fellows - Soldier Boy
Johnnie & Joe - Over The Mountain, Cross The Sea
The Heartbeats - A Thousand Miles Away
The Orlons - I'll Be True
The Ronettes - Soldier Baby [[Of Mine)
    The Shirelles - Soldier Boy
The Supremes - Your Heart Belongs To Me
The Players - He'll Be Back

I like Freddie Scott's "Where Have All The Flowers Gone" best. Although Pete Seger did it very well 9and every time different.

What about "Take Good Care" by Tony Mason

"My Ship is Coming In"-The Pace Setters

    "A Letter from Vietnam"-Emanuel Lasky

    "Korea Blues"-J.B. Lenoir

    "I'll Be Home"-Flamingos

    "A Lonely Soldier"-Jerry Butler

    "Lonely Soldier"-Mike Williams

    "A Soldier's Plea"-

    "Way Over There"-Miracles

Thank you all for your suggestions. I am familiar with those CD's, Davie, and I've taken a couple of songs from there, but some of them are a little too political and a little too late 1960's for my tastes. I'm most interested in the innocent and naive depictions of the war, like in the examples I provided along with "Way Over There" and "I'll Be Home". A couple of the songs listed I haven't heard. Thanks alot, keep the love-war songs posting if you come to think of any more.
