i became a jimmy holiday fan today!

i'm always on youbube browsing looking for artists and songs i'm not familiar with and today my new discovery is mr. jimmy holiday. i only knew him for baby i love you[[ i like little milton's version more)but the first song i discovered was the magnificent how can i forget. which turned out to be the original, i only knew about ben e king's. i just ordered his greatest hits cd cause i was so impress with his soulful style. i don't know much about him and i'm sure some of you here do. but for those of you that don't, let me turn you on to a few of his cuts i heard today, totally awesome singer!

Didn't Jimmy Holiday co-write Put A Little Love In Your Heart, which was a hit for Jackie DeShannon? Wasn't Baby, I Love ou, recorded by Little Milton?

His real birth name is James Easter [[which is why he made his "stage name" -Holiday. I also like "The New Breed" by him.

The flip of "New Breed" is also good..."Love Me One More Time". That was on the Discovery label, prior to his signing with Minit. His Minit sides are all worth tracking down.

    Best,
