"Nightflight" Tue Aug 31, 9P-12M ET/USA: Hot Off The Presses!!!!

    Attachment 878

Tonight...on "Nightflight"...I have the pleasure and priviledge of airing for you, for the first time, "CELLARFUL of MOTOWN" Volume 4! Like many of you, I haven't listened to it yet...when I play the tracks for you, it will be my first time hearing them. It contains, as you know, never released tracks from the Motown vaults! And tonight...we get to bust into those vaults...thanks to Paul Nixon [[producer) and Harry Weinger [[V.P. of A&R, UME)!
Thanks guys, so much, for opening those vaults for yet a FOURTH time. And from what Paul says in the annotation booklet [["With no signs of the goodies drying up in the Motown Vaults...")...let there be a FIFTH and a SIXTH and.....
All this and more...tonight on "Nightflight"...on WOMR 92.1 FM Provincetown...and streaming live worldwide in digital stereo at www.womr.org
Thanks, folks...and Paul and Harry...et al.
    John

How very cool John! Especially since our friends in the UK have the drop on us, and are already enjoying this new treasure. While we have to wait another week before we can get our grubby little paws on it! LOL. I'm really glad I haven't listened to any of the snippets yet. I'll be hearing it with you, on NightFlight, for the first time. I can hardly wait to hear the Tammi track. It's been hard resisting the snippets on that one, but I wanted to hear the whole track at once. Glad I won't have to wait another week! Go, Johnny, Go! Heartfelt thanks to Harry Wienger, Paul Nixon and everyone involved in getting this project out.

Great Temps track, reminds me of I Truly Truly Believe

I wonder if Oma in the duet with Marvin is also known as Oma Page)? or is that what you said her last name is? lol

Tone....Paul Nixon says Oma Page and Oma Heard as if the same person...mentions both names.

This Marvelettes track is awesome! Very much the sound of early Motown. Sort of Mary Wells-e. I love that period of Motown.

It's Company Time has a super-cool groove. really love it! btw the theme in Eddie's Twin Bro could seem far-fetched to some, but my cousin [[& former roomate) was the "reformed" identical twin. His brother was real cool with me, but a bit of a terror in the neighborhood. Got my "good guy" cuz into some deep stew with a lot of people! lol

I sort of agree. The song is a little too MOR to suite his delivery. But there are way too few Paul leads to enjoy, to pass on one that is just okay. His voice always goes right through me. "Don't Look Back" and "I Want A Love I Can See" are two of the best Motown Classics.
