The CD credits read like a family reunion of Motown meets Disco!

    Producer: Tony Bongiovi

    Arranger: Meco Monardo [[Tracks 1 & 2)

Bass: Bob Babbitt [[Motown Bass Player)

Arranger: David Van Depitte [[Motown Arranger) [[Tracks 1, 4 & 7)

Here's a photo of the original album cover and complete credits. [[Can't help but notice that the lady in the red dress looks amazingly like Nedra Talley of The Ronettes!)

I never had the album, nor did I know that one existed until now. In fact, I had never even heard of the Club hit "Dream World" until the past 20 years or so when I discovered it on a Various Artists "Tom Moulton Mix" CD. Better late than never, as "Dream World" and the entire "Doctor Boogie" CD sounds like it would have fit right at home on the Philly Soul Salsoul label.

I found my CD copy last night on eBay when I ordered it from get_importcds for $13.79 from whom I've ordered lots of CDs before. His shipping is absolutely FREE, yet you'll have the CD in your hands in like 3 business days! I don't know how he does it!

Boogie, the above Don Downing CD sounds like an album that I would expect you to have in your extensive Dance Music collection. Can you verify that for me?

I brought this when I was 14 yrs old, great record. It was after that one i was then looking for more Don Downing 45's.

Sadly any new US 7T's copies were hard to find in the UK, unless they were 6T's US 45's by the bucket! [and the US postage was next to nothing] Postage now crazy.

I have not listened to this album in ages. Just now I was playing it and the vocal sounded like Big Al Downing. Googling tells me that they were brothers! Go figure!

Like you, Graham, I, too, have always wondered what happened to Don Downing. You don't release a top-notch track like "Dream World" [[which is so good it attracts the attention of Tom Moulton) and then just call it quits. There's gotta be a story behind it.

Yeah, I know that postage from the U.S. to the U.K. is ungodly expensive. I've been the victim of reverse postage from the U.K. to the U S. a time or two myself. What they're charging these days just to ship a record or CD is ridiculous. There oughta be a law!

Small world, imnokid! I just searched YouTube and came up with Big Al Downing's tribute medley to the Four Tops. Have you heard this?

I bought my first Don Downing record, on VJ subsidiary, Abner Records in 1958.
