You MUST be able to prove ownership of any photographic elements [[even in a modified state) in your submission Look beyond Dave Chappelle's 2003 parody and create something that speaks to the true legacy of this musical pioneer Design Suggestions The following guidelines are recommended but not required: Be inspired to create a T-Shirt design that brings the King of Punk Funk back to life Remix the designs on the vintage tees from the original tour Consider incorporating one of the logos [[available in support files) Submit the funkiest T-Shirt you can Consider including the text "Rick James" and "Throwin' Down" Support Files These files contain assets and templates for use with your design. File specs for this contest T-Shirt Front Only Review the T-shirt Front Only creation guidelines below to make sure your entry will upload successfully. Flattened images [[.JPG, .TIFF) are okay for uploading but the winning designer MUST be able to provide a high-resolution layered or vector file. Be inspired to create a T-Shirt design that brings the King of Punk Funk back to life.Remix the designs on the vintage tees from the original tour [[below) into a funky-fresh T-Shirt design that will celebrate the album release. Don't hesitate to incorporate any of the logos [[available in support files) into your design. Submit the funkiest T-Shirt you can!Though best known for unstoppable funk jams like "Super Freak" and "Give It to Me, Baby," Rick James had an evident impact not only in chart stats, but in his artistic contributions as a composer and songwriter. 2012 marks the 30th anniversary of the King of Punk Funk’s classic album Throwin’ Down. The record combines hardcore funk with a sprinkling of soul ballads and won album of the year in the Rhythm & Blues Category in 1982.Check out the original video of "Throwin’ Down" in January 1982 below for further inspiration.
