    I saw it again for the first time.........it was tremendous . These men were giants........I was enthralled , what a momentous time in history, politics, civil rights, the power of televison ...if we only knew..........

    They were the biggest Sports celebrities of their time. Consider this, whenever their fights were broadcast on commercial television, they would get the lionshare of the viewers as there were only 3 networks during that era. Not like today where you have 500 channels and everyone is watching something different when you through in home entertainment equipment and DVD's! Close circuit broadcast would sell out! Remember what those were? During Boxing's Golden Age everyone knew their names and many knew their styles, fight records etc,etc.

    It will never be like that again!

    True for their first fight I had to listen to it on the radio ! wow ! You had to wait for the next day newspapers for further details and still photos because it wouldn't be on TV for a while, now its instant !
