    RIP Sly

Was a "wow" moment for me when "Dance To The Music" was released in 1967.
My favourite is "Everyday People" which reached No. 1 in US but only reached 36 in UK.
There's no accounting for peoples taste, but possibly due to poor airtime.

My older brother in our text thread yesterday reminiscing about his college days:

"Saw him in concert at an outdoor music venue called Tanglewood in Massachusetts in the summer of '75. Dude was two hours late and we waited in the rain! But Boy, when he showed up, they tore it out da frame!"

Great Story! It takes a lot of patience to wait for a show that's two hours late but your brother stuck it out. While I never got to see Sly & Co. in concert, I remember the first time I saw them on The Ed Sullivan Show back in '68 and they were outstanding. RIP Sly.

The title of his LP "FRESH" was how I heard his music when it came on the radio. There was something fresh about their sound ....it wasn't like any other and even in of itself, the music didn't have a narrow sound to it. You didn't know what you'd get next. A vibrancy.....a freshness.

    RIP Sylvester Stewart.
