Joe Schaffner - Motown Acts Touring Pioneer

This is a very interesting article about someone we hear little about.

He worked for Marv Johnson, The Temptations and others. Also was married to Katherine from The Marvelettes.

I'm glad he got the recognition he deserved. He and Kat divorced many years ago. She wanted nothing to do with show business while he still desired to be involved. At one point they were both working for a Home Depot in the Inkster area.

Mysterysinger: You are so diligent and seem to locate items on many many Motown acts, etc. Let's put your experience to research some articles on the legendary Richard Morris. Very little information is generally available about him. He contribute admirably to Motown. I know if anyone can locate it, you can. Fingers crossed. Thanks.

thank you for sharing this rarity. There is a bit of incorrect information in the article. When the Supremes played the Flamingo, they always stayed in the hotel. They were never relegated to anywhere else. They used the pool, restaurants, Casino, and were afforded extra rooms as needed for special occasions like Florence‘s birthday. As far as the crew, I know nothing to suggest it was nothow he said it was.
