In Loving Memory of Tammi Terrell

Today, March 16, 2025 recognizes that on this day 55 years ago on March 16, 1970, Motown Records were stunned by the death of one of the greatest female soul singers of the time, the GREAT TAMMI TERRELL.

She was born on April 29, 1945 in Philadelphia. Her death was one month short of her 25th birthday. She died as most know from a brain tumor which had initially struck her down 3 years earlier in 1967.

Play some Tammi Terrell music today and keep her in your thoughts and prayers. She was truly a living legend.

And 55 years later many of us still wonder what could have been had she lived a full life. I regularly listen to the TT Come On And See Me, The Complete Solo Collection set from Hip-O-Select and thoroughly enjoy both CD's from start to finish. If you don't have this release, you should!
I recently acquired the November 1969 issue of EBONY magazine with a feature story on Tammi's struggles which I haven't had time to read yet. Maybe I'll do that this evening.

Definitely one of Motown's most tragic stories. Loved everything she did with Marvin and the solo album was awesome too.

    Wow!
Now that's one huge paper, Tammi's article's are in comparison to the rest of the newspapers to work through.

Thanks Reese really pleased, I had read Tammi's papers many years ago, but forgot all about the papers and years. I can now copy all of Tammi's papers.

Sorry if one of Tammi's 45 is one that you can't identify it's "What a Good Man He Is" Motown 1115 Oct 1967. It was recalled 15 Oct at the time with few issues and was difficult to identify as it was too dark to see it from its dark in the evening..
