Hit & Run More Motown Guys how to preorder if you reside in the USA.

I communicated with the director of sales for ACE/KENT regarding the upcoming Hit and Run More Motown Guys as to where in the USA would be a good source to order it from. He recommended to me www.dustrygroove.com and I just placed a pre-order for it. It was $13.99.

What intrigued me the most about it was his quote: "They are very efficient and they have stock in advance of the release date."

I went into their website and it is listed there and I was able to pre-order it.

This should certainly help residents of the USA. Go for it.

This release will be officially dedicated to Keith Hughes.

Dusty Groove has long been my alternate source for Ace, Kent, etc. releases when I can't wait the extra month for things to be released on Amazon. The releases are usually cheaper than Amazon there by about US $3.00 or so but that savings [for me] basically gets gobbled up by the shipping charges I have to pay. [I have Amazon Prime, so I get free shipping buying from there.] Still, from Dusty Groove I'm getting it sooner AND it's a small[er] business based in Chicago, Illinois.

Woodward and I were pretty impressed that Dusty Groove's shipping was only $3. Almost everything I've ever ordered from the UK generally has pretty salty shipping costs. There are regularly items I'm interested in on the US Ebay site located in the UK, but I rarely bid on them as shipping for a single photo or booklet is generally $15 to $20 US and I just can't justify that in most cases.

I have used Dusty Groove on occasion and been pleased with it. However I guess I was unaware of the concept of them having things earlier than anyone else.

My preferred music site used to be Deep Discount, because they would occasionally offer 15% off coupons and you only had to buy $25.00 worth to get free shipping. But those specials applied only to "in stock" items and lately I have found their "in stock" inventory to be sadly lacking. Lots of things say Backorder or Special Order or in some cases, they are simply not on the site at all.

I have also discovered over the years that Deep Discount is somehow connected to WowHD and Import CD, because their inventories are always exactly the same. So the options for buying music online [[especially CDs) are getting lower all the time.

This is by no means a knock of DG, but they do seem to sell out of their initial stock of new Ace/Kent stuff pretty quickly. They do get restocked in time, but I suspect "the secret is out there" when it comes to them, their prices, and people pre-ordering. Who knows? Maybe if they get more and more business on the releases like this then they'll order larger initial runs? I wanted to say "on all the future Ace/Kent releases," but we know they won't be doing much more Motown CDs with Keith having passed. If you're a fan of their other releases [[which I am), then there's reason to be happy about DG as an alternative source in the USA.
