It's such a sad thing yet again, that a great "Soul Singer" has passed away.
Brenton Wood, there are around thirty tracks I enjoy & my favourite record that I have always loved "Cross The Bridge" on his Brent Label. He will be missed.

    Bless him!

Sadly we have reached a point in time when our artists from the 60s and 70s [[music's greatest decades I might add) will leave us. Brenton's music was catchy and he along with Joe Simon, Wilson Pickett, Joe Tex, Tyrone Davis, and others definitely kept our toes tapping back in those days.

Although not soul by any stretch, I also heard that Wayne Osmond died yesterday as well.

He was best known in the UK for his hit "Gimme Little Sign" which, strangely enough, seems to be less well-remembered in the US than his prior, lower charting "The Oogum, Boogum Song".

    How does that work?

That sort of thing happens often here. Take for example the Temptations classic "Ain't Too Proud to Beg." For some reason that I will never understand it only reached number 13 on the Billboard chart when it was released, but on today's oldies radio programs, you probably hear it more often than all their other hits put together. I guess that is just our current DJ's trying to let people know what an awesome song it really was.
