Every Once In Awhile When I'm Surfing Through Youtube, Something Captures My Ears And I Be Like "WOWWWWWW"....LOL. Never Heard Of This Young Lady And She Sure Sounds Good To Be Just 13 Years Old On These Songs.

I Know From Her Comments On The Videos, That As Of Last Year, She Is School Teacher In Milwaukee. Another Person Posted That "She Has Just Now Returned From London Where She Recorded Some Tracks For The First Time In 40+ Years.

Anyone Have Anymore Info Or Pics Of This Very Talented Lady?

I loved Barbara Green's material. Felix Hernandez's Rhythm Revue show plays her Young Boy quite regularly. The only
downside her for me is that it reminds of what big problems I had with some of today's soul and r&b singers, well let me
just go on and say it, particularly Mary J Blige. The major balance of her career was supported the hype push of mostly
tone deaf rappers probably swayed by her generous rump and full bra. She really couldn't sing at the start and people say
Oh, but she was young and I say: doodyplop...Barbara Green like so many others singers including Earljean McCrea of The
Cookies, Sheila Ross of The Royalettes,Brenda Reid of The Exciters to better known acts like Aretha Franklin had fully developed voices with expressively controlled tone at VERY young ages. They were scouting these kids fresh outta high school,some even still in school. I'm not saying I don't like any of today's singers, far from it, but dang, sometimes an
old Public Enemy line pops up in my head:
Who Stole The Soul?...

Those were The Dells backing her up. Calvin Carter produced her, and Richard Parker helped on the sessions. I'm not positive, but I think that either Riley Hampton or Johnny Pate was the arranger. Her two records were released on V J Records' subsidiary, Vivid Records. VJ wanted her to go on tour. But her parents wanted her to finish school. She finished school and became a teacher, and never went back to professional singing until now.

I bought both of her records, and was very disappointed to learn that she had made no more.

I can't wait to hear her new recordings.

I also have had very good experience corresponding with Barbara. She is very nice, and accommodating to her fans. She graciously answered a lot of my questions about her career.

Mary J.....I had some friends see her in concert several years ago. They left after about 20 minutes. They said it was like a dog howling into a microphone. They weren't the only ones the got up and left, too! Barbara Green could mop the floor with Ms. Blidge.
