What Motown songs would've worked better for another artist ?

    What do you think?

I always thought 'Love Is Like An Itching In My Heart' would've suited The Vandellas more than The Supremes especially since Martha and the Vs were having a bit of a dry patch in 66.

Was it written for Martha but Berry said 'no the girls need a new single'?

I also think - if HDH had stuck around - 'Band of Gold' would've been a perfect song for M&Vs.

    Any other thoughts?

    My thoughts:

Come Round Here [[I'm The One You Need) and Do I Love You [[Indeed I Do) would have suited the Four Tops.
Baby I'm For Real would have suited Marvin and Tammi.

I think R. Dean Taylor's "There's A Ghost In My House" would've worked well for The Four Tops.

I think Itching was a song far more suited to Flo's voice then Diana's. Of course they wouldn't release a single with Flo on lead, but I think an album cut/b side with her singing it would have been fantastic.
