The Mister G YouTube Channel. Extended versions of Motown classics.

I don't know if this channel has been discussed here before, but it's one that some of you might enjoy. I know mosogotam was well-loved and remembered on the forum and even now, his videos are as popular as ever. I feel fortunate that comments I left, raving over his work, would get a really wonderful reply from him.

There is another channel on YouTube with a man who also does marvelous remixes/extended versions of classic Motown recordings. His channel is "Mister G". It doesn't seem to be getting a lot of support or subscribers. He had another channel previously, which he closed and I think I recall him commenting that it was because there were not many comments or views for the channel.

I have a feeling this is not because of the quality of his work but more because YouTube is a place where you now have to be very savvy about use of tags, hashtags, knowing about algorithms [[I still have NO idea how that works) and also using various other social media platforms to bring viewers in. There is a new generation of Motown fans who know how to do these things and their channels are wildly popular.

But in the meantime, maybe members here can check out Mister G's channel. And if you like what you hear, subscribe and drop him a line!

I have been following Graham's channels for years. His work is excellent considering he is registered blind. Thanks for giving him a heads up.

I didn't know that about him. He did a marvelous job with Martha Reeves and the Vandellas' "Bless You." I must have played it about 10 times straight through. I had come across his channel before but then theboyfromxtown alerted me to one he did for The Marvelettes' "Maybe I Dried My Teardrops for The Last Time" and then I started paying a bit more attention to his channel.

Let's hope he gets more subscribers and viewers.

Spread the word. I honestly believe it's a matter of understanding the YouTube algorithms and how they work, as well as tying in the other Big Three platforms: TikTok, Instagram and X. But I also have to wonder if some channels are paying for views. There's another channel on YouTube that features some excellent 90s styled, original content- young guy, but even he's struggling to get views. I'm hoping Mister G. won't shut this latest channel of his down.

You know that I love his mixes. In the same kind vein as John Perrone in that he does add beats and outside instrumentation.

That Marvelettes track he did was superb.

Yep, that's the one you told me about that got me to pay a little more attention to his channel.
