    Cissy Houston

Emily “Cissy” Houston has passed away at age 91 from Alzheimer’s disease.
Rest in Power and Peace and thank you for your contributions to music. Especially for having Whitney, who you’re now reunited with.

This is so sad to hear. I believe her birthday was just a few days ago.

I last saw her a few years back at a McDonald's Gospelfest. She was incredibly frail and before she sang she said "Pray for me." It was heartbreaking. But what a legacy she leaves behind. May she R.I.P.

Sad news indeed. Heard the news on the radio this afternoon. The DJ gave a nice tribute to her and then played Sweet Inspiration. However she had other great stuff on her own, such as Think it Over and my personal favorite Morning Much Better.

Cissy Houston mourned by Dionne Warwick, politicians and more at longtime church

NEWARK, N.J. [AP] — Dionne Warwick, BeBe Winans, Darlene Love and a massive choir helped celebrate the life of gospel icon Cissy Houston during a music-filled memorial Thursday in the Duchess of Gospel’s hometown of Newark.

The ceremony at New Hope Baptist Church — where Houston was a congregant and choir leader for decades — was decorated with framed photos of Houston and her coffin was placed in front of the pulpit. The church also held daughter Whitney Houston’s funeral more than a decade ago.

Looks like that may have been her last concert. You remember what year she performed. I noticed she stopped making personal appearances by 2019. She must've known something was wrong. Hope she rests with Whitney and Krissy in her arms. :')

I'm not sure, but I think it was circa 2019. It was definitely pre-Covid.
