Hi!
I have always loved HOB and got quite a number, I always liked Laura and the backing group with James Cleveland "He Has Done Something For Me" 45 HOB 301 1961, for a while I never knew that she was "Laura Lee".
The Meditations also had "45 Checker 1176 1967" I'm not sure that Laura was part of that one?
The Story Looks great ! and it's only Part One! maybe "Part Two" & the 1967 Checker?
Thanks for the "Part One"
Did Laura ever visit the UK [[I guess if she did it would have been in her HDH period).
It always struck me as a great pity that she pulled out of the Ric Tic Review UK tour [[1983).
Hi Graham!
Thank you for your kind words.
The upcoming parts concentrate on Laura's solo career.
As I wrote in the article, she sang on some of the Meditation Singers' post-1965 recordings, but there were only a few of them. The choir was active still for many decades.
John, if I get to speak to Laura I'll ask about that.
Best regards
Heikki

I do have all of her Hot Wax records from 1972-1974 & a great Double CD "Laura Lee Women"s Love Rights" I can dig out the CD if needed.

Graham!
Hot Wax records will be covered and reviewed possibly in the third part of the article.

Many thanks. Sure all the other parts to her story will be great too.
I knew she was THE "Laura Lee" because one of her other HOB Meditation Singers' 45s listed her as "Laura Lee Rundless", so I knew that "Lee" was her middle name, and the Ric Tic singer was the same person as The Meditation Singers co-lead singer. I didn't know that Laura still recorded with The Meditations after 1965, and that she might have been singing on that Checker 1967 single.
Hi!
Still one more thing: that cover photo was taken by Ducky Lucas, and in her own words "The one with Laura walking the red carpet at Gordy Manor on Boston Blvd in Detroit was taken at one of the ceremonies in 2006 celebrating the Motown Street signs of motown artist at Woodbridge Estates."
Best regards
