The only words I hear are "you're the one I've been looking for"..or something like that..

Sounds like a tune I've heard before but I can't find any info about who sings it.. I like the harmony in it too..is it The Vogues?

I don't know the commercial, being in the UK, but recognised the words as possibly "Just The One I've Been Looking For" originally recorded by Johnnie Taylor but as you mention a group and harmony checked if covered by anyone and it was also recorded by The Soul Children. Could this be the group?

Ok, so it's actually by a group called The Petersons...[[unless there's another group who did it too)

Anyway, I played it for Mr.Gzu, and when he listened to the words, he told me that this is "our song", cuz it pretty much describes how we met each other 15 yrs ago....
