Many UK pop hit makers loved soul music too. They would jump at the chance to record duets with the likes of Al Green, Aretha, Barry White and more. Lulu cut duets with Bobby Womack. Rod Stewart had the Temptations back him up on the odd recording. Of course, it's well known that Elton John loved soul singers [[Major Lance, Patti La Belle) and soul music [[hence his Philly cut tracks). Annie Lennox + Lisa Stansfield also got in on the act.
