A few weeks ago, I mentioned to you guys a countdown that was taking place each week on the AXS-TV network. Each Tuesday night they air two half-hour episodes in which they count down 10 songs per show.
As each song's placement is announced, they play clips of it and show several artists commenting on the song. For the most part those comments come from older rock stars, even if the songs they are discussing were not rock songs.
Anyway, after tonight's two episodes, they have counted down to number 120. Making the cut tonight and showing up somewhere in the 120s and 130s were....Sister Sledge with We Are Family; Donna Summer with Bad Girls; Diana Ross with Ain't No Mountain High Enough; and Bill Withers with Ain't No Sunshine. So our soul artists are getting "some" love in this survey, even if we would all probably prefer that ALL the songs have R & B or Motown connections!
When the countdown is ready to go into the top 100, I will try to remember to post another reminder in case some of you want to tune in. They cover 20 songs per week, so as of now, the series has six more weeks to go.
