Though the article states that the cause of death was not disclosed. Sadly, he suffered a stroke at his father's funeral on July 5th right before he was to get up and preach his father's euolgy. He passed away 11 days later.

Members of Boyz II Men, singer Tank, Jamie Foxx and many others in R&B have credited the gospel group Commissioned for being the blueprint of the 90s R&B sound. Fred Hammond and Marvin Sapp were also members of Commissioned before finding fame as solo artists.
