Yesterday, June 30, was the 29th anniversary of her death in New York City. I am sure we all know about her bi-polar disorder and the severe impact it had on her life. If you are like me, you still remember where you were when you first heard about her passing.
As for her birthday, that date was July 6, 1949, which means she died just a week before her 46th birthday. As she said herself with one of her songs, she should have still considered herself as being in the "Prime of My Life."
So doing the math, that means that if she were still with us, she would be approaching birthday number 75, an important one for sure. When you consider all the stars that are still going strong at that age and beyond, it just makes you wonder how much more she could have given us.
So even though I am a few days early, Happy Birthday Dear Lady. You are sadly missed by many!
