You say this like she's doing these shows for free. I tease.

She's always has a very big and loyal following in the Netherlands and surrounding areas [ie. Denmark, Belgium...]. Ziggo Dome can accommodate up to 17,000 people, so it will hopefully be a huge turnout. As much as she's always said how much she loves her Dutch and Danish fans, I would imagine that the promoter for these shows is paying her a very handsome fee that she could not resist. Alternatively, the promoter knows that there is money to be made...

I think her last free concert was in Central Park, less hungry mouths to feed then...

    17, 000 would be a great turn-out.

I'm wondering if she doesn't have family/friends in that region to connect with ....

In the old days she always reconnected with Pete Felleman, the Motown representative in the 60's and 70's in the Netherlands [[Benelux, Europe, depending on the year, he had quite some career). I remember a few concerts in Rotterdam where she called him out.

Normally she only stays over in the Netherlands if there are multiple dates here. Nowadays she flies out when the band still plays the extended version of IWS. And yes, in Europe she tends to fly private. Which sometimes is difficult because most EU airports have a curfew and don't allow nightlights that much so she needs to leave on time. She travels separate from her band.

Yes, Amsterdam / Rotterdam is very centrally located and can be reached by surrounding countries in 2 or 3 hours. So she can catch the Belgiums, French, German and UK fans too.

Denmark is also considered to be the Nordic hub and easily reached for all Nordic countries. And cheaper than Norway, where she has her connection and is still in contact with the childeren of Mr Naess. Her ex.

And to add, they can adjust the seating plan for the Ziggo Dome, so if not sold out it will still look good. I remember some concerts in the 90's in Rotterdam, empty seats were covered with black sheets and when checking in they moved all the people around to sit somewhere else, lower rings, closer to the stage. But normally she always sells out in the Netherland.

In 2022, when she performed part of North Sea Jazz it was free seating and walking. It became so crowed that people could not fit in anymore and were standing outside the venue, just to listen.
