Ones to Check: Yazmin Lacey - Voice Notes & Gabriels - Angels and Qieens

Hey Soul heads - wanted to share two amazing modern soul albums that have been on my stereo non stop all summer. As wonderful as I think these are they may be under the radar to most folks -- 1) Yazmin Lacey - Voice Notes and 2) Gabriels - Angels and Queens. These lps, IMHO, are the best of 2023 and really point to a great future of nourishing soul music. Yazmin comes out of the UK and is a "mature" artist blending soul/jazz and roots on her intoxicating debut album "Voice Notes". Gabriels is a US/UK hybrid band fronted by church-trained singer Mr. Jacob Lusk, a former American Idol runner up from 2012. Angels and Queens is their debut lp. Both albums are immaculately produced and fill with soul stirring music. Highly recommended.

OMG!!! How has Yazmin Lacey been a secret this long?!! "Voice Notes" is amazing! Why doesn't she have any visibility in the U.S.? She's a British girl I think could find as many fans in America as she has abroad.
